What's in a name?
What’s the reason for the 5 Woodhouse Family Cellars labels?
Upon the announcement that a winery would be the Shah’s next
adventure came the immediate decision that all of the labels
would be tied to family and friends. It is also believed that
the design of each of the individual five labels helps wine
collectors recognize the labels in crowded cellars and wine
shop shelves.

| DARIGHE
Bordeaux Blend, Columbia Valley
1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002
Pronounced (Dare-eeg)
Determining a name for this flagship wine was relatively
easy. The Darighe name, which translates to ‘red’ in
Gaelic, was chosen to appease Bijal’s irish in-laws.
This Bordeaux blend’s four varietals all derive from
a single vineyard. Heavy bottle packaging and bold labelling
builds Darighe as the heartiest of the Woodhouse blends.

DUSSEK
Cabernet, Syrah, Walla Walla County
1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003
Pronounced (Doo-sek)
This second label is named after Steve Dussek, CEO of
Dobson Communications. Dussek, a long time friend of
the Shah family as well as an avid Cabernet collector,
invited Bijal to be his best man in his upcoming wedding.
Bijal quickly determined that there couldn’t be a more
appropriate wedding gift than to designate the next
Woodhouse label, the Dussek Cabernet.

| MAGHEE
100% Merlot, Rattlesnake Hills
1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003
Pronounced (Mag-ee)
Woodhouse Family Cellar’s third label is titled after
another friend of the Shah family. Sharon Maghie, a
Washington native, shared a similar obsession for small
production Merlot. The unique design and detailed touches
of the Maghee label is a fitting example of the originality
of each of the five labels. This label, originally spelled
Maghie, was changed in 2005 to the spelling of Maghee.

• SHAH
Rattlesnake Hills
Chardonnay: 2003, 2005
Viognier: 2005
Riesling: 2005, 2006

Followed on the heels by the birth of Bijal and Sinead’s
son, • Shah was added to the Hudson label, which boasts
Woodhouse Family Cellars’ white wines, including a
